Age : 7 - above 1 session - 2 hours
Parent and child will work together closely to create

Fusing Glass 1A 4 day Workshops 6pm - 10pm
Learn how to make beautiful kiln worked glass in this fun, non-technical workshop. An introductionto the glass fusing process by melting layers of glass in a kiln. Explore your creative and artistic abilities.

Fusing Glass 1B 4 day Workshops 6pm - 10pm
This class is an in-depth exploration of fusing and kiln working techniques. We'll explore the many choices in glass design using frit, powders and textured glass. You will be guided through the process of grinding, fusing and slumping. See schedule above
Australian-Style Roll Up: Blowing Fused Glass
This course will introduce a hot, third dimension to kiln-formed work. The class will work in the Australian Roll-Up technique, in which pre-fused glass tiles are picked up on a blowpipe and blown & manipulated, into vessels and/or sculptural forms. 3 day Workshops, 9am - 5pm

See what happens to fusing glass when it is super heated in the kiln. Our focus will be on design and depth, color combining, as we fill our reservoir moulds with glass for melting, then coldworking and how best to utilize these pieces for secondary firings.
2 day Workshops, 9am - 5pm Sep. 18 & 25 Nov. 6 & 13
Glory Hole and Kiln Forming
We will use hot working techniques with the fusible sheet glass to produce some unique patterns and designs. Glass bundles and tiles will be manipulated in the glory hole to form color twists, overlays, fold overs, and murrinis.
2 day Workshop 9am - 5pm
Aug. 14 & 15 Oct. 16 & 17 Dec. 11 & 12

Murrini and Pattern Bar Weekend
We will begin with making murrinis in the glory hole and pattern bars in the kiln. We will cut up these pieces and arrange them in the kiln for further firings into a more complex milieu. We will also examine the characteristics of working in the glory hole and the kiln to form these different decorative parts.2 day Workshop 9am - 5pm, Oct. 9 & 10
Strictly Strips
We will cover methods for uniform strip cutting, blocking patterns, windows, stripes, and geometrics.

Glory Hole Work for Fusers
October 27 & 28, 9:30 - 4:00

Students will use hot working techniques with the fusible sheet glass to produce unique patterns and designs. Glass bundles and tiles will be manipulated in the glory hole. The parts will then be taken to the kiln where they will become the starting point for making a larger fused piece.
Coldworking and Finishing
October 30 & 31, 9:30 - 4:00

The second class will be a two-day basic coldworking class. Students will learn how to grind, smooth and polish glass pieces with comfort and confidence so that the grinding process can proceed with minimal effort. Students will be able to practice working on a variety of machines. This class will provide a strong foundation for finishing glass pieces as well as a solid platform for further exploration into more advanced coldworking techniques.
